deselect the option of running messenger from the startup list in the system Configuration
Utility (msconfig.exe), the program will be loaded each time you restart the computer.
There are ways in which you can uninstall the messenger altogether. But that is a radical
method
When you do not want to uninstall it, but just want to disable its startup mode.
You can permanently disable Messenger from loading by clicking on ‘Start / Run’ and typing gpedit.msc
Click on ‘OK’
From the Group Policy Editor, you can stop Windows Messenger from loading at startup
* This will open the Group policy Editor. in the left hand side pane, navigate to the folder, ‘computer
configuration |Administrative Templates| Windows Components |Windows Messenger’.
* In the right pane you will see two options. They are not configured by default.you can disable
messenger completely by double-clicking on ‘Do not allow windows messenger to run’. Enable
the option .you can also enable the second d option,’Do not automatically start windows messenger
initially.’ This option will simply stop Messenger from loading during startup.
This setting is a ‘per Computer’ change. For a ‘per user’ setting, go to user
configuration| Administrative Templates | Windows Components| Windows Messenger’ and
follow the same steps.
Thanks for the nice information.
