Network Data Transfer speed Increase

Several Tweaks related to boosting Internet surfing speed, but is there any
way you can increase your network data transfer speeds across the Lan.

If you work in an environment where you need to transfer several large files across
the network, you can use the following tweak to boost your LAN data transfer performance.
This tweak increases the number of buffers allotted to network transfer, but it also utilizes
additional memory.  However, if you have 256 MB of system RAM (or more), this should not
be a problem.

Open your registry and browse to the following branch: ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MECHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation.’

If the following entries aren’t already there, create the DWORSs ‘MaxCmds’, MaxThreads’ and
MaxCollectionCount’ under this branch. Assign them a value of 30, 30 and 32 respectively.

After you restart your system, you should experience an increase in the performance of your network
transfers.
